PR Workshop & Kiseki Buffet Dinner

We had the second part of our PR workshop during recess week on 25 Februrary 2013!

Dr. Ganga gave us yet another insightful experience in explaining to us about crisis management. We learnt about many different cases and examples of crises and how to cope with them should there be one in NUS (though we hope not!)

After an eye-opening session of the final PR workshop in this AY, we presented Dr. Ganga with an appreciation gift (:

A few of us stayed back in school to study for the rest of the day (no pictures cause we were busy mugging :P) and when dinner time arrived, we headed to Orchard Central for KISEKI BUFFET! Super awesome! :P

  • NUSSU CNY Reunion Dinner 2013

On 22 February 2013, NUSSU PRU hosted our annual CNY Reunion Dinner, this year with a cosy atmosphere together with the other NUSSU Committees and NUSSU Exco.

As evening came, members of the NUSSU Committees started streaming into the student lounge. Registration was opened and the members were eagerly waiting for dinner to commence.

At the reception, we had a little 'Guess the number of Snakes' game whereby each committee was given a chance to guess the total number of snakes kept in a tall glass jar. The game saw many committees coming up with novel ideas. The winning committee gets a $50 Timbre voucher!

The event kicked off with an opening speech by our NUSSU President, Goh Renkai. In his lighthearted speech, he thanked all NUSSU Committees for their hard work over the past semester till date. Kudos to all who had made everything possible!

Finally, dinner had begun! The orderly queue that had formed was like a SNAKE!

While the members were tucking into their scrumptious meal, we observed something really interesting: members of NUSSU SAVE had brought their own lunchboxes and utensils to eat with! Indeed very exemplary of their committee and the principles they stand by.

As the members were seated, they were soon made known to their groupings, which were based on the item placed on their tables. The 4 groups were namely the 'hong bao group', 'mi tong group', 'ju zi group' and 'mei hua group'. Each group had a mix of at least 2 different committees.

Soon after, we kicked off our series of games. The first was Lunar Pictionary, which saw a friendly competition amongst committees to gain the most points. It was certainly a chance to showcase their artistic talent, or maybe not…

Either way, it was a close call as each committee was on the ball!

Next was Taboo. This game evidently displayed the understanding amongst all the NUSSU committee members, developed from both the good and hard times together. It was definitely entertaining and laughter echoed throughout the student lounge.

Following which, there was an announcement for members of the EXCO to checked their red packets that had been given out to them earlier during the registration. Quickly, we identified 3 members (Bailey, Gladys and Wilson) and invited them to be the judges for the next game, NUSSU Chef.

Each group was to send 2 representatives up on stage where they were given a set of ingredients (consisting of canned fruits, syrups and fresh fruits) to whip up a desert. This had the creative juices of the chefs flowing (literally, as we saw syrups and juices of all sorts coming together in a wicked concoction).

At the end of the day, the judges tasted the deserts, albeit some with grimacing faces. The winner was 'mi tong group'!

The night rounded off with a mass photo taking session as all members of the NUSSU committees stood together as one on the stage.
