Happy 2010!! Hope you guys have had an excellent start to the new year so far. =]

At the beginning of every academic year, NUSSU organizes a series of events to welcome in the freshies and increase the campus vibrancy here in NUS. These projects are called Freshmen Orientation Central Committees (FOCCs) and this year there are 5 of them, namely:

- Union Camp (UC)

- Matriculation Fair (MF)

- Freshmen Inauguration Ceremony (FIC)

- Rag and Flag (Rnf)

- Project X (Jamfest)

These individual project committees are made up of all different members in NUSSU and this year it is even opened up to the student population. These projects are on a much larger scale, aiming to target all the students, NUS-wide.

These projects are now recruiting and here’s the chance for you guys to be part of something huge! I have sent out a series of recruitment emails from all these project (except for FIC which is not recruiting yet) so you guys can have a read through on what the project is all about.

I strongly encourage you guys to be part of FOCCs as they provide you with a whole lot of experience and fun with other members of NUSSU, not to mention the sense of accomplishment after a successful project. =]

HEY PRU!

Hope your December holidays have been a blast so far! 2009 is coming to close and what better way to kick start your 2010thanwith NUSSU PRU!

We are organizing one last PRU outing and have all the fun we can before we face the reality of a new semester in January.

Date: 9th Jan

Time: 3pm

Place: Marina Barrage

We will basically be making/flying kites and sending off our resolutions for 2010. Kites, games and snacks will all be provided so you guys just have to be down! This would be a very good opportunity to catch up with your PRU Camp mates too!

So do reply your Welfare heads of your attendance for this outing and we hope to see all of you guys there!

Hey PRU!

some of us have started  our exams yesterday so I wanna take this opportunity to wish you all the best of luck!! Don’t stress too much okay, we will all get through this!! =)

On a more serious note, it has been brought to my attention that some of you guys have raised concerns about the lack of activity for PRU so far this year. I regrettably agree that there have not been much opportunities for us to engage you guys as compared to other years and some of this is really down to unavoidable and unforeseen circumstances. Our big PRU events are mainly in the 2nd semester and our adhoc events are not rolling in as often as we expected.

We do, however, vow to make it up to you guys. And the first way we are gonna do that is at PRU CAMP!! We have exciting activities lined up for you all with the aim of getting to know each other better and bond as one PRU! So i really hope you guys can set aside abit of your time in December for that. =]

Besides that, our events will be coming in thick and fast from December onwards. SLC and PRU Camp is coming up next month, Student Hub Launch in Jan, NUS Bash in Feb and Open House in March, and we would require your 100% support for all these events. We will be discussing more about how you guys can be part of all these events (besides being in the committee) during PRU Camp itself so feel free to clear your doubts about it then.

Once again, I wish you all the best for your upcoming papers and I really cannot wait to see you guys in the coming months. =)

Hey PRU!

Hope muggings going on well! Here’s abit of good news you can look forward to when the exams are over!

As you guys might already know the Standard Chartered Marathon is happening on the 6th of December and NUS will be having a booth there to help support our very own runners! And NUSSU PRU have been invited to come down and help out! They want us to be at the final leg of the run giving out NUS Flags and cheering our NUS runners on as they go on to the finish.And just like last year, we will be given free TEAM NUS T-SHIRTS to wear on the day as NUS Supporters! We will be down from the morning of the 6th to about mid-afternoon.

This will actually be the first official event where PRU manpower have been requested so I hope you guys are keen to join us! You can look out for the call from your Welfare heads (they might also ask you bout PRU Camp haha) and you can confirm your attendance with them.
